Sketch at Brandywine River Museum

What a beautiful day. This past Thursday, our art club (twenty two 7th and 8th grade students)went to the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. We had received a grant from the Glassboro Education Foundation, which enabled us to get shirts made (designed by one of the students), sketch books, and the trip. We got a tour of the museum in the morning, and in the afternoon we sat on the bank of the Brandywine River and ate lunch and sketched.

Asparagus and Lemon, oil on board

I finished this painting just in time for dinner. The asparagus was delicious! Oil on board, 6" x 8"

"Dragon Fruit," oil on panel

This was expensive to buy, but fun to paint. After painting this, Jim and I cut it open to try it. It sort of tasted like a Kiwi. I looked it up on Pinterest, and I saw a lot of juicing recipes for it.

"Mom's Irises," oil on panel

The irises are from my mom's garden, and the vase is hers too!
